The Independent Album Review 13/6/09

The title of Raissa Khan-Panni’s orch-pop debut album nods to a Madonna hit but this is no Eighties retro trip. Tale swoons with opulent, cinematic romanticism, like Bjork and Goldfrapp on the Yellow Brick Road. There’s enough colour and melodic magic here to sustain such comparisons. Enough, too, to suggest that Khan-Panni will live to tell yet more ripe tales yet. ****
